Spoiler alert -I like to think of myself as somewhat of a humourist.
Many would no doubt disagree but I do make it a point to try and look at the humourous side of life, as often as possible, and in as many ways as possible.
There are all sorts of adages about the world around us being far better at showing the absurdities of life than we are. Or it could be the Creator giving us that tour. By Himself/Herself or through the actions of others. The saying ‘Truth is stranger than Fiction’ comes to mind. As a result, I am a firm believer that you can learn as much from humour as you can from drama or seriousness, for lack of a better term.
I have been fortunate to have travelled to the four corners of the world and seen some funny stuff. If you keep your eyes open, its easy to notice things that will make you laugh. Scenes that are purposely funny, created to grab your attention, or things that tickle your fancy just because of the time, place and people involved. Random chance… hey, I’m a big fan. Here, I wish to share with you some of the images I have been lucky to come across from all over the world- New Zealand, Mexico, Toronto etc.
It should also be mentioned that humour is subjective and selective. You tell a joke in a room with a hundred people, and its pretty much guaranteed that anywhere from four to eight (just a random guess) will not find it funny. All humourists and comedians have to live with that ratio, pretty much. Some might say they don’t get it while other’s might even be full out offended. Contrary to the famous Monty Python ‘world’s funniest joke’ sketch from “And now for something completely different”, not everybody will agree with my funny bone. So be it.
To quote Madonna, life is a mystery.
So take a peek. Enjoy. Hopefully there will be more to follow, for I am not yet finished travelling the world. There are still a few more places I have yet to visit, and a few more laughs waiting to be had. I will keep you updated.
